Re: How to start a career in HR?

It's hard to start a career in HR with little experience. In order for one to be qualified for an HR position you need to have a background of training. Taking courses in business, social sciences such as psychology and sociology, and finance is one way to get started, and will increase the likelihood of you getting hired for the position you seek. Also take into account that many professionals are also pursuing Masters degrees in Human Resources, Organization Development, Business Administration, and other fields. So if you want to take a crack at having the best chance of getting the job, previous training is a must.

I think he means "how do you enter the field with very little experience?"

Everybody's gotta start somewhere.

Re: How to start a career in HR?

I have been in service and sales since I graduated college, and recently have been working a job that deals with lecturing/teaching/training. I have decided this is a career i'd like to pursue, does anyone know what basically an entry level position would be in this field? ideally I would like to be a corporate trainer, however i'm open to starting off at a different position in relation to this to build experience. any help would be much appreciated! thanks!

Start with the companies that are actively advertising that are looking to fill jobs. Once you have gone through all of them, spend the rest of the time of application to the companies that you would like to work, although not currently hiring at this time. You never know when your resume can be delivered and read at the right time.

It is hard to make career in HR field, You need to MBA with HR specialization and after that get training in HR field. Take training minimum 6 months and than take experience in small company and do hard work there. You can take 1 year experience after that you can go and giving the interview in MNC.

Re: How to start a career in HR?

Basically, you have to make sure that you are being realistic with your goals for employment in this field. Start with the entry-level jobs and then when enough time passes, you could begin to set your sights higher. No matter what exact job title you are applying for, you want to make sure that you are applying everywhere. You want to make sure that you are leaving no stone unturned.
