How to improve the employees motivation

Hello Friends

1)Build a foundation. It’s important to build a solid foundation for your employees so they feel invested in the company. Tell them about the history of the business and your vision for the future. Ask them about their expectations and career goals, as well as how you can help them feel part of the team. When any new employee starts, make sure he or she receives a thorough welcome orientation.
2)Create a positive environment. Promote an office atmosphere that makes all employees feel worthwhile and important. Don’t play favorites with your staff. Keep office doors open and let folks know they can always approach you with questions or concerns. A happy office is a productive office.
3)Put people on the right path. Most employees are looking for advancement opportunities within their own company. Work with each of them to develop a career growth plan that takes into consideration both their current skills and future goals. If employees become excited about what’s down the road, they will become more engaged in their present work.

Have a nice day

Re: How to improve the employees motivation

Hello Friends,
Employee motivation is not always the easiest of tasks, but it does pay off for you, your customers and the employee. Recognition is ranked the number one motivating factor when it comes to employee motivation in the workplace. If you want to maintain motivated employees, and encourage others to do better, recognizing them publicly may save yourself the time and money of having to find and re-train new staff.
Thanks.

Re: How to improve the employees motivation

These employee motivation strategies involve improving levels of trust between the leadership of your company and staff.

1 : Find the right job for the right person
When people enjoy and are challenged by their work they become self-motivated.

2 : Empower employees
Trust employees to make their own decisions and make their own mistakes.

3 : Co-operation vs. Competition
Excessive competition destroys morale. When teams work towards a shared goal they become more motivated.

4 : Performance vs. "Presenteeism"
Do long hours necessarily equal quality work? Look at whether your organisation encourages a presentee culture rather than valuing performance and results.

5 : Involve employees in company development
Keep employees informed on new developments in the organisation and how their work impacts the company.

Re: How to improve the employees motivation

1.
Step 1

Set goals. Set weekly, monthly, and yearly goals. Set up an inter-office visual to track progress and spark some healthy competition between employees. Have meetings often to discuss goal setting and progress of their goals. Being able to cross several items off of their goal during each meeting is mentally rewarding and will help increase motivation.
2.
Step 2

Reward employees for reaching goals. Be creative with your reward system-- it doesn't only have to be monetary. Rewards can be as simple as bagels in the morning, taking the team out to lunch, a VIP parking spot, etc. Showing an employee that you appreciate gratitude can be all you need to increase employee motivation and have them start performing better at work.
3.
Step 3

Commend solid work. Remember not to let any good work go unnoticed. A simple "Great Job on that Sales Analysis Report!" while passing each other in the hallway can go a long way. Employee's thrive on recognition and will work harder to get that next compliment.
4.
Step 4

Implement an open door policy. Keep your office open to employee suggestions and concerns. Let your co-workers know that you are willing to make changes based on their suggestions-after all they are the ones that have the hands-on experience with how most of the work is being handled.
5.
Step 5

Create a positive work environment. A little water cooler talk is healthy, but frown upon excessive office gossip that can bring down morale. If you hear someone talking bad about a co-worker or spreading a rumor, stop them in their tracks. There's no quicker way to bring down an office than a bad wave of office gossip.

Re: How to improve the employees motivation

At times, managers unknowingly sabotage employee motivation by failing to recognize the positive behaviors and achievements of their employees. As a result, employees don't know whether or not they are doing a good job.

I recently had an employee of an organization tell me, "The only time we ever hear anything from management is when we do something wrong!"

Fortunately, savvy managers can improve employee motivation by rewarding employees with personal attention. This can include a pat on the back, a hand-written note, or a quick comment in the hall.

When showing appreciation, be specific. Instead of just saying, "We really are grateful for the good job you do around here," the approach might be, "I really appreciate how you handled the Franklin Industries account last week when we had to get their rush order out late Friday afternoon. Your effort really made a difference."

By being specific, the employer comes across as much more sincere, and the employee realizes their actions are truly being watched. And, a highly level of employee motivation is the natural result.

Re: How to improve the employees motivation

Hello Friends,
Employee motivation is a very important factor for any business. A motivated employee performs at a much higher level than an unmotivated employee of the same talent and skill level. This is why managers and supervisors spend so much time and put so much emphasis on recognizing and praising employee contributions, no matter how large or small.Finding a proper balance can be difficult. While employee incentives (ie gifts or cash bonuses) can be a power motivational tool, they can also become quite expensive. And lose their effect if overused. Managers need to be careful with the frequency of these types of incentive programs. Many studies have shown that most employees crave for and respond effectively to recognition and appreciation being shown for their efforts. Both from their "boss" and their co-workers. A simple pat on the back is often all it takes to encourage someone to maintain their current level of energy and reach for another level of personal success.
Thanks.

Re: How to improve the employees motivation

As indicated in the historical perspective section, from the very earliest of times people worked to promote greater efficiency in the way things were done. Initially, this was mostly concerned with manual working methods. Improved methods, improved tools and incentives to the workforce were all part of the search for greater productivity.
The world of work has changed enormously over time. Conditions, attitudes and expectations that prevailed in the ages before the Industrial Revolution were different from those that developed during this great period of social, technological and economic change.
The same is now true as we in the Western world move from a post-industrial society into a technological age-an age where the difficulties, dilemmas and opportunities will be no less challenging than in previous times.

Re: How to improve the employees motivation

Hello,
# Educate the masses. Help employees improve their professional skills by providing on-the-job training or in-house career development. Allow them to attend workshops and seminars related to the industry. Encourage them to attend ***** education classes paid for by the company. Employees will feel you are investing in them, and this will translate into an improved job performance.
# Don’t forget the fun. Once in a while you have put work aside and do something nice for the people who work for you. Treat the office to a pizza lunch or take everyone to the movies. Reward employees with an unexpected day off or by closing the office early on a random Friday afternoon.
# Acknowledge contributions. You can make a huge difference in employee morale simply by taking the time to recognize each employee’s contributions and accomplishments, large or small. Be generous with praise.
# Provide incentives. Offer people incentives to perform well, either with something small like a gift certificate or something more substantial such as a performance-based bonus or salary increase. Give out “Employee of the Month” awards. Such tokens of appreciation will go far in motivating employees.
# Honor your promises. Getting people to give their all requires following through on promises. If you tell an employee that he or she will be considered for a bonus if numbers improve or productivity increases, you’d better put your money where your mouth is. Failure to follow through on promises will result in a loss of trust -- not only that person’s trust, but the trust of every employee that hears the story.

Totally agree! Like the 2nd and the 5th idea. Employees will feel confident and more devoted to the job if they are trusted and they have responsiblity.

Employee motivation through compensation

Some employee are motivated by money. In fact, most are motivated by money; at least for their basic needs. Employee motivation through compensation can come in the form of raises, performance bonuses, commissions, profit sharing or any number of "Extra Benefits"like automobiles, vacations or other tangible items purchased and used as rewards.
