Re: Five ways to cut small business costs

Hi,

Business health insurance is a major cost of doing business, especially for small companies and mom-and-pop firms. With premiums soaring, many small business owners are asking their employees to shoulder more of the financial burden or cutting benefits entirely.

The New York-based Commonwealth Fund, an advocacy group for health care reform, says small business health insurance costs average 18 percent more than those of larger businesses. In California, health insurance costs increased 10 percent in 2006 alone, according to the California Employer Health Benefits Survey.

Those costs have proven too high for many small businesses. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, more than 45 million Americans are uninsured, and approximately 60 percent of the uninsured are employed by small businesses.
Thank you
Lisa

Re: Five ways to cut small business costs

The small-business tax code is friendly toward family enterprises. You won't have to pay federal unemployment taxes to family members that work for you.Improve the maintenance of your facilities to decrease the cost of equipment repairs and replacement.Study how the work environment affects your workers' health to see if you face potential high losses due to health insurance coverage.

Re: Five ways to cut small business costs

Well, if that's the situation your company is facing, then probably even you are a victim of high-cost operability. At the outset, all seems perfect. Company's image is improving, client base is expanding, and work is increasing yet there is a continual crunch. A dire need of ready cash! The payments seem to evaporate the minute they reach. There are no reserves.

You can also lessen your costs by going green; lessening your use of paper and retrofitting your office with eco-friendly structures can help not just your business but also the environment.

Re: Five ways to cut small business costs

Wouldn't you find more business having a land line because you would be listed in the phone book?

Re: Five ways to cut small business costs

I don't think landlines will provide you with more business these days. i think more and more people are searching online rather than using the phone book. Get in a with a good company who offers multiple telecom services, and save some money that way. a business phone system company can help you with communication issues and maybe save you some cash.
