Hello,

Here i found some of the best ways for employee benifits basics:

#Comply with the law to give employees time off for jury duty, voting and military service.
#Follow all Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and worker’s compensation rules. Remember to comply with tax law, withholding FICA taxes from payroll. Also, pay your part of FICA. Social security and Medicare are part of regular payroll taxes. Pay unemployment taxes and any additional state taxes. You can outsource your payroll to simplify this task and ensure compliance.
#Remember the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) applies to companies with 50 or more employees. For more information,
#Research employee benefits options. You can choose to offer retirement plans, health plans and dental/vision/prescription drug plans. Often a cafeteria plan allows you to set a benefit cost level for the company and give employees a choice of benefits.
#Even if you are a very small firm, remember that all companies with employees should have an employee handbook that governs standards for your company and specifies vacation, sick leave and company policies related to personnel.

Thank you

Re: Best Tips: Employee Benefits Basics

Hello Friends,
The world of employee benefits is dramatically different today than it was just five years ago—let alone 15 or 20 years ago. What is not new is the fact that employees need benefits, and companies need employees. However, escalating benefits costs are causing employers to re-examine employees’ roles in selecting, paying for and managing benefits. Historically, employees had minimal to no input, and benefits were considered “fringe” and viewed as entitlements.Today, both government and employers are placing more responsibility and accountability on employees for benefits decision-making and cost responsibilities. Businesses and government still have important roles, but sharing accountability with benefits recipients is the trend. This how-to booklet provides fundamental information needed to undertake the initial design, administration or review of employee benefits programs. Hopefully this material will serve as a springboard to better understanding benefits … thereby increasing your value to your organization.
Thanks.

Re: Best Tips: Employee Benefits Basics

Hi,

Benefits are forms of value, other than payment, that are provided to the employee in return for their contribution to the organization, that is, for doing their job. Some benefits, such as unemployment and worker's compensation, are federally required.
