Please Help! Business Proposal or Not?

I keep looking at sample business proposals online and I'm not exactly sure that is what I should be trying to make...

Here is the situation:

We are a startup company that provides a service/product to other businesses (mainly retailers). Recently, a salesperson contacted a HUGE retailer through the customer service link on their website and then the head of marketing contacted us. They have genuine interest in our product and want us to come speak with them about it. I am not sure that a business proposal would be the right thing to use in this situation. We have none of their "numbers" to use. When we meet with them, it will be the first time discussing doing business with them.

This is what I know I need to do:

Tell them about our business and how our product can increase their market share, increase customer loyalty, and so on.
Tell them about the details of our product/how it works.
I have a survey of consumers in that industry and I would like to include the results/interpretations of that.
But what else?

Without knowing detailed information and since this is a HUGE company with many stores, I can't do any sort of pricing and don't feel completely comfortable with profit projections.

What is this kind of presentation called? If I knew, I could google it and find some examples. Argh!

Re: Please Help! Business Proposal or Not?

First you need to create a strategy how you can improve the clients business and your products reaching the customers.

You need to give good details about your products. If they say some cons you need to give some postivie answers i.e your product is best compared to the other competitors .
you should prepare yourself for good presentation. If the first impression is best definitly you will get the deal.

Prepare answer for negative questions well.

Try to be positive.:)

ALL THE BEST
