Re: what is difference between exact keyword & broad keyword research?

hi kyli

read it and i hope it would be help full for you.

Broad Match: This is the most primitive form of keyword input. An example would be:

online playstation g***s

But since it’s a broad match it would also trigger for the following phrases:

playstation g***s online

g***s online playstation

playstation online g***s

The problem with this is that often when the words in a particular phrase a rearranged they can become untargeted & mean something completely different to what someone is actually searching for.

Exact Match: This is the most targeted type of match & the one I prefer to use most often. With this match you can target the exact keywords you want to trigger your ads. The more targeted you are the higher your conversions will be.

I haven't really encountered any term such as "exact keyword" I mean whenever I do my keyword analysis, I would come up with tons and tons of what maybe broad keywords but can be a great keyword to target. a keyword say something like "playstation g***s" can still be a targeted keyword once it becomes broad as "playstation g***s online" or even if it becomes seasonal "summer playstation g***s". don't just stick to targeting a keyword that is mostly search or is very specific like what ^ said but target the keywords that can bring you all the opportunities for a sale.

Exact keyword is somthing exact, for example if your are using exact keyword and your search for "cat" it will show onlye "cat" but in broad keyword section it will show "food for cat" "big cat" "small cat" and so on. It's always good to use broad keyword until your are some big brand.

This is correct. So the lesson is to use 'exact search' if you are doing keyword research for SEO purposes. Using broad will give a false sense of how much traffic that keyword will bring if you rank for it.

Re: what is difference between exact keyword & broad keyword research?

Hi kylismith,

Another difference between short tail and long tail keywords is the variety of competition between the two groups as related to SEO. Most exact match keywords have been aggressively marketed and targeted and are very hard to get a market hold on within the search engine environment. A way to work around this dilemma for new businesses is to find broader based keyword phrases and use those niches as marketing / advertising / search outlets. Did you have a specific project / use in mind in regards to this keyword inquiry?

Re: what is difference between exact keyword & broad keyword research?

Exact keyword research would be low than broad keyword research due to exact [exact]

Example:

1. Broad - 'what is SEO' for 'SEO' keyword
2. In Exact SEO keyword mean SEO.

Re: what is difference between exact keyword & broad keyword research?

The main difference between exact keyword research and long keyword research is that in the exact keyword research there is higher competition and it is difficult to get ranked in the search engine while on the other hand in the long tail keyword research it is wise to use because it is very easy to get ranked in the search engines and the competition is also very low.

Re: what is difference between exact keyword & broad keyword research?

Broad Match – The number of monthly searches containing your keywords in any order, along with any number of other words in the search. For example, broad match results for ‘dog training’ will also include search traffic for ‘dog training, training a dog, training a small house dog, dog obedience and trick training’, etc.

Exact Match – The number of monthly searches containing your exact keywords, in their exact order, with no other words in the search. For example, exact match results for ‘dog training’ will include ONLY the search traffic for the exact keyword phrase dog training.
