Tips on Creating an Office Where You Can Work

Hello,

1.Locate your office in a quiet location where you won’t be distracted with passers-by. Locate your office in a space you love.

2.If you have to share an office, make space for two desks and two sets of files and supplies.

3.Situate the workspaces to allow each person maximum quiet and minimal distractions.

4.Project your office's needs for the next year and acquire equipment and furnishings accordingly.

5.Your office will grow. Purchase systems and furniture that will allow for growth or add-ons.

Re: Tips on Creating an Office Where You Can Work

Thanks for asking this question,

Because I happen to have once written
a detailed report about 'the Perfect Office'

'In my case an Office as a perfect Workspace
to be able to sit, stand or lean-back behind
the computer and write'.

Some years ago (1st January 2008 to be specific) I wrote a little post titled: 'Writers Workspaces that Inspire',
In this little 'Short Story' I write about a concept that I dreamed up, that I actually created for real,
I call it the 'Out-Door-Home-Office' it's kind of both 'Indoor & Outdoor' at the same time
You can read more about this old 1st January 2008 post at: http://hpshappywriting.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html

Re: Tips on Creating an Office Where You Can Work

So you need a home office for your work-at-home venture…but you’re just starting out, and money’s tight. Here are a few ways to save money on that home office while creating something lovely and engaging at the same time.

Hit up estate sales. Who wants a big modern desk when you can find a massive rolltop with lots of character? You’re looking for a desk that can handle your computer, gives you plenty of space to write, and has space for the items you need within easy reach. Look for something with a handful of drawers and perhaps a cubbyhole or two. You will also need space in the desk for your hard drive and other items that are required for your business.

You can find a professional-looking and very functional desk at estate sales for a fraction of the cost of buying it new. You might even be able to talk the auction house into delivering it to your door.

Barter like crazy. Do you have huge boxes of envelopes but you really need a box of printer paper? Online swapping forums and neighborhood business meetings offer a great chance to get what you need while you get rid of something else that is taking up space.

You can also barter your services for the things you need. Do you require a professional set of business cards and brochures? Perhaps you can negotiate the price of the goods by offering services in exchange. For instance, if you have a sign-painting company and the local copy store needs a new sign, you just might have the basis of a sweet deal.

Well according to me the enviorment surrounding the office should be silent and there should be no out disturbances.Well there should be ample amount of space around the office that you can set up a cafeteria or refreshment area in your office. The office area should be well developed having all the facilities available nearby.Anyways thanks for your valuable tips.

Re: Tips on Creating an Office Where You Can Work

My favorite place to work is on my laptop outside when it's nice. Otherwise the biggest focus for my office is keeping clutter at a minimum.
