Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a next-gen technology that has the potential to transform every industry. It has life changing implications in healthcare, which can improve outcomes for millions of patients. This blog post explores the different ways in which AI is transforming the healthcare industry.

Predicting premature death

A recent study reveals that artificial intelligence can be used to predict potential health risks that may lead to premature death. It can be achieved by collecting user data of a certain age bracket and analyzing it with machine learning models. The process involves careful investigation and analysis of different data sources associated with people of different age groups.

The predictions are based on the data related to demography, biometrics, lifestyle factors, and dietary habits too. It is possible to use such data for making significant predictions with machine learning algorithms. It is a pivotal measure for predicting potential health issues and preventing them. At Oodles, we are successfully working with several startups to provide such capabilities with the latest machine learning techniques.

AI has now been shown to be effective in the accurate diagnosis of various medical conditions. For example, in ophthalmology, an AI-based grading algorithm was used to screen fundus photographs obtained from diabetic patients and identify, with high reliability (94% and 98% sensitivity and specificity).

Yes, the world is very much a place ready for AI. We are already facing drawbacks caused by human error in a lot of things.

With the help of AI in everyday healthcare, it would ensure that more people are saved from death and disease.

Hence, I think AI is the best choice for today's healthcare.

As long as AI is used ethically in the medical sector, people have nothing to worry about. The problem arises when it is put into bad use. It only takes one person with ill-motives to make these systems act in a way they never were intended to act.

Just the other day the world was hit by Covid-19 pandemic and we saw several countries developing Apps that use AI technology to help identify and track citizens. Some countries used robotics to help move things in and around the hospitals in terms of delivering and monitoring Covid-19 patients. AI will continue to play a major role in the health sector.
