Am a management student,my friend and myself are planning to start a
human reource consulting company. Both of us started doing this a year aga, like,we used to send candidates through a known source in the comapny and if the candidate gets selected, we collect a percentage of his salary as our incentinve or consulting fees. But now we are planning to start on our own.
So can anyone help us on how to establish relationships with companies and on how to get started.

I think Redc is right I would put a website together to get resumes and then focus on a particular niche then you can do the same thing with another website and niche until you grow your company into a meaningful enterprise. One way to get clients is to have a newsletter on your website and that they will receive it keeps your name in front of them.

Re: new business

I do not see a lot of companies do this but if you were trying to support the small business market you could also be a HR consultant. Most do not have full time HR people and you could provide them guidance on key issues that may come up in their business.

Re: new business

You may want to consider contacting some of your competitors who may not be in the same country as you and look for an alliance where the jobs could be outsources to someone overseas

Redc;32409 wrote: The easiest thing to get started is to own a franchise there are some that cover executive search hirings. Aside from that I would develop a job website for the target market that you are chasing for two reasons one you will get more resumes and two you will better position your business to new employers

I agree with this idea, so you should opt it

Re: new business

Someone needs to start policing the forums and get rid of useless spam posts like the one above...

Re: new business

i like the web site idea but i also have a good suggestion why dont you hire a well trained and experienced public relations department to build a strong image and control negative images which could help you gain clients and make customers comfortable

Re: new business

Depending on what type of business you intend to start, your business plan could include these elements:

*
executive summary - a one-page overview written after your business plan is finalised
*
introduction - explains the purpose and objectives of going into business
*
marketing analysis - looks at the industry you are entering and how you fit in
*
marketing plan - your marketing strategy
*
operations plan - how you'll set up the business, i.e. structure, location, regulations
*
management plan - how you'll manage your business
*
financial plan - how you'll finance your business, costing and financial projections.
