I use QuickBooks and highly recommend it. Peachtree is similar, but I have not used it. At a minimum, I'd suggest using some type of program to manage your business because at the end of the year it'll be easier to generate reports.

As for which program is right for you, it depends on your needs.

Re: Accounting software

Your best bet is to go with Peachtree - one of the best packages for small to medium sized businesses - used it for 8 years. You will get crystal clear reports, and it follows
accounting principles.

If your'e having problems setting up - my email is RogP@Yahoo.com

Re: Accounting software

I am 34 years old and I am unemployed. I am planning to start any small business and I want to get business loans for that. Actually, I am interested in buying a salon/barber shop, but I currently do not have a cosmetology license, I just want to own it and hire people that are licensed. If I incorporate a business name, am I eligible to get a loan to purchase a space without using my personal credit?

Re: Accounting software

Hi guys

Accounting software is application software that records and processes accounting transactions within functional modules such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and trial balance. It functions as an accounting information system. It may be developed in-house by the company or organization using it, may be purchased from a third party, or may be a combination of a third-party application software package with local modifications. It varies greatly in its complexity and cost.

The market has been undergoing considerable consolidation since the mid 1990s, with many suppliers ceasing to trade or being bought by larger groups.

Re: Accounting software

hi guys….
On the topic of Accounting Softwares, I would like to suggest that the it should provide services like creating invoices, reminders to our customers about their payments, reminder to the company for payments due….. Moreover it should provide the facility to calculate tax at the end of the financial year based on our financial transactions.

There are so many softwares available in market which are very suitable to business organizations and very user friendly....

Re: Accounting software

I'd like to cast my vote for Peachtree accounting software, particularly for any new business startup who has not gone through the learning curve of another package and would have to start over. My reasons are: I have unfortunately used QuickBooks in my business for more than 20 years, and I feel like i am being held hostage. They are very proprietary, meaning once they get their hooks into you, they gouge you by forcing you to constantly spend on this upgrade or that upgrade, or this service or that service, always under some kind of threat. For example, if you don't upgrade this or buy that, then your software will cease to work, or we won't support it, or something like that. It's even worse if you should, heaven forbid, make the monumental mistake of subscribing to one of their add-on services such as payment processing, payroll, or any of the other services they peddle. I have heard the way they do business referred to as 'hostage marketing' and that sounds about right. Quickbooks/Intuit are terrible people to get involved with--if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't go anywhere near them. Again, my vote is for Peachtree accounting software.
